Tip of the Week "Musical.ly is a social network platform becoming increasingly popular with youngsters. It allows users to create short music videos and upload them. Other users can then comment, follow others and share content. As with all social media platforms, it is important to identify the risks associated with its use. More information can be found here: https://goo.gl/xW6ds4 "

Dumbsmash2: It appears there is a new app called 'Dumbsmash' which is video messaging app where people can upload themselves singing over famous songs and then choose to share via whatsapp, facebook, instagram or via a text message. It is not intended for children under 18 and you must be 18 or 13 years or older with parents’ permission to use it. However there are some primary school children utilising this app. Within the Q&A section of the app there is a question posed by someone asking whether or not they should upgrade to Dumbsmash 2. It says: 'Dumbsmash 2 has nothing to do with Dumbsmash but is a malware app that hides itself on phones and then pushes users to porn sites. As soon as it is set up, the icon deletes itself and runs in the background without the user’s knowledge.' Please consider monitoring what children are viewing online and what apps they are using.

Welcome to the website of Coppice Primary School.

Coppice is a successful school where all those connected with it work together for the benefit of the children who attend. Our pupils are encouraged to be themselves, be independent learners and make the most of all the opportunities that are available to them.

Whilst here, they learn in a caring and nurturing environment and take part in a variety of curricular and extra curricular activities. Children are encouraged to consider the world and community around them and make responsible decisions that will impact positively on others.

We moved into our new premises in September 2008 and children take great pride and care of the facilities that we have and that we continue to add to.

Should you wish to look around the school, then please contact the office and they will arrange a tour for you. If you have enjoyed your visit to our website, then you are welcome to leave a message in our guestbook, too.
